You will need the Stencil1 Lotus stencil, stencil brushes, masking tape, acrylic paint and a chalkboard sign from Hand Made Modern.
Start by placing the silhouette stencil in the center of the sign. You can tape it down with masking tape.
In a tapping motion with very little paint on your brush, paint in the design area. Allow one layer to dry or use a hair dryer or heat gun to speed up the process and add another layer until the color is rich.
With the first layer complete, once dry you are ready for the second detailed layer.
Place the detailed layer down using the registration marks or just eyeball the lineup. Sometimes offsetting it can be interesting!
Using a different color, stencil in the open areas of the design. Again, a little paint gives the best results. Paint in an up and down or tapping motion.
The lotus is done! Since this is a chalkboard design, you can add a custom chalk saying, we wrote NAMASTE using a thing chalk pencil, available at most art supply stores.
The chalkboard lotus sign is complete!
