This how-to is inspired by vintage botany prints.  You can make your own stenciled art and here’s how.

Target carries these black canvas boards in their Handmade Modern collection. We love that they are already black!

We used our succulent Hens and Chicks stencil and our Agave (or Aloe) stencil.  The 5.75″ x 6″ stencils fit perfectly on these canvases.

When stenciling these,  you can use a few shades of green or even blend in blue or purple. This will give the plant images some depth.

Here’s the Aloe, kept it nice and simple. Do the same with the hens and chicks in a radial gradient.

You can use a white paint marker and search for the scientific plant name to give it the botany print feel.
