It’s almost the Fourth of July! What better way to get ready for the holiday than with Stencil1? Decorate your napkins, plates, cups, and many more with our wide variety of stencils.

Our stencils are designed by us and laser cut on a durable, washable, and reusable mylar material in order to provide a long lasting product our customers deserve. Not only are our stencils top quality, they are also Made in America!

Stencil1, since it’s launch in 2004, has manufactured all of it’s Stencil1 stencils in the USA. Being able to say Made in America on our products is something we are proud of. We also think it gives our customers a sense of comfort in knowing exactly where and how the product is made.

When asked by the team at Martha Stewart’s American Made, “What does being American made mean to you?“ Owner, Ed Roth, had this reply:

“American Made means everything. We started here in Brooklyn, NY & there are many opportunities provided to small business owners in America. We took advantage of free advisors, free legal services and more to start our business. American made starts with the American dream and for me that was to find freedom in doing my own thing. I started Stencil1 with an idea to make stencils that were modern, eclectic, & different and soon enough I had an online business running. I started by stuffing stencil orders in envelopes from my home! I then got some great press which lead to stores calling and wanting to carry my line. My line? I don’t even have packaging, I told the buyers. They said “figure it out, we want it”. I did. All these elements are a part of the American business – our value of press, our industrial capabilities, our vast love of technology, our freedom to use all of these resources. The simplest details can make the biggest difference. In partnership with Levi’s®, we transformed the 501® Original Fit Jeans into something completely bold and unique without the use of stencils in preparation for our In-Store Artist-In-Residence!

Things you will need: A pair of blue jeans and paint and a paint brush.

First, fold up the bottom of your jeans to your desired length.

With the color of your choice. Load up your brush. Here we’re using Vermilion by Pebeo.

Start painting away!

Once you’re done painting. Allow the paint to fully dry before wearing them.

That’s it! This is a subtle way to stand out. Be sure to pair your new jeans with an awesome statement shirt to go along with it.

SPREAD THE LOVE!

Stand out and show everyone the importance of LOVE! Learn how to make this bold statement shirt with only one stencil! In partnership with Levi’s®, we created this shirt in preparation for our In-Store Artist-In-Residence!

Things you will need: A plain t-shirt, a variety of paint and paintbrushes, and the Stencil1 Equality Stencil 4-Pack.

Using the LOVE stencil, start off with your first color. Here we chose red. Repeat this stencil throughout the entire shirt. The shirt we are using is Levi’s® Sunset Pocket Tee.

Keep repeating the stencil throughout the shirt using different colors and positions until it’s completely filled.

Be bold and be proud! Love is for everyone. Spread the LOVE!

Give your plain white tee that extra POP with some color and a stencil! This DIY features an ombré technique that can easily be done with any two colors. Learn how!

Things you will need: A plain white tee, two or more paint and a paint brush, and a Stencil1 Small Image Stencil.

Gather your materials. To start off your shirt, place cardboard in in between your shirt to prevent paint from seeping to the other side of the shirt.

With the stencil of your choice, place it in your desired location. We decided to go with the Stencil1 Antlered Deer Stencil on the Levi’s® Sunset Pocket Tee. We placed it directly over the pocket!

Tip: Spray some spray adhesive to the back of your stencil. This especially helpful for detailed stencils, and it won’t leave a sticky residue on your shirt!

Grab your first color. Here, we chose red. Start off by painting just the bottom of the stencil. Repeat with your second color (in this case purple) but instead, at the top of the stencil.

Next, mix the two colors and paint the middle of the stencil so the top color and bottom color blend!

Once the paint is dry, carefully remove the stencil to reveal the final image.

And that’s it! An easy ombré deer!

New York is known for many things! One of our favorite things about New York is their huge biking community. Here’s a T-Shirt we made for our Levi’s® In-Store Artist-In-Residence event. Just another sneak peek of many you can expect at the event!

Things you will need: A T-Shirt, paint and a paint brush, and a Stencil1 Small Single Image stencil.

Place the stencil of your choice in your desired location. Here we are using the Fixed Gear Bike stencil!

Load up your brush and start painting away! Here we are using Pebeo‘s Setacolor Opaque paint in Black. Be sure to wipe off excess paint on a paper towel or plate and paint using a dabbing motion. This will prevent paint from seeping underneath the stencil, especially for detailed stencils!

Once dry, carefully remove the stencil to reveal the image!

Why buy more than one of the same stencil? Stencil1 stencils are durable, washable, and reusable! With just a little water and soap, you can clean your stencil and use it over and over again!

Once your stencil is clean and dry, flip the stencil to the other side to mirror the original image and repeat!

Voilà! It’s done!

The denim jacket is a timeless piece of clothing that will never go out of style! Revamp your old denim jacket with the use of Product of the Year, Stencil1 Repeat Patterns for a more urban, street look. Our repeat wallpaper stencils aren’t only for walls. Along with Levi’s®, we bring you our take on the denim jacket in preparation for our In-Store Artist-In-Residence!  Come on, try it out!

Things you will need: Denim jacket, paint and a paint brush, and a Stencil1 Repeat Pattern stencil.

Take the stencil of your choice and place it wherever you’d like on your denim jacket. Here we’re using the Stencil1 Staggered Triangle repeat pattern stencil on the Levi’s® Trucker Jacket! If you plan on only painting one portion of the jacket, use some tape to tape off the edges for a clean finish.

Load up your brush and start painting away! The best method to use when painting with stencils is a dry brush (no water, just paint!) method using a dabbing motion. This ensures that no paint will seep underneath the stencil.

Once the paint is dry, carefully lift up the stencil to reveal the pattern!

Continue to paint the pattern using the register marks on the stencil as a guide. This will help you repeat the pattern successfully on any surface no matter what size!
