I have some news I’m really excited about: I’m doing a two-day live event with Tecovas for their 11th anniversary.
Saturday, October 24, 2–5pm — Tecovas Williamsburg (N 6th St)
Sunday, October 25, 1–4pm — Tecovas SoHo
I’ll be in the store live-customizing cotton apparel with my brand-new Western stencil pack and a custom rope-style font I designed just for this. If you’ve ever wanted to watch stenciling happen in person — or take home something one-of-a-kind — this is it.
The backstory, because it’s too good not to tell:
I’d been eyeing a pair of Tecovas boots online for months. And I kept thinking: I wish they’d do some kind of fun pop-up in the neighborhood so I could actually try them on. I even had a specific popup space on N 6th Street in Williamsburg in mind.
One evening I was out for a walk through the neighborhood. Passing a storefront on N 6th, I noticed what looked like a private party — it was Tecovas. They’d just opened, and it was their launch party, executives and staff only. I asked when they’d be open to the public, and they cordially invited me in.
I had a Ranch Water. I met the CEO and his wife. I met half the people who’d be working the store. And I was genuinely impressed — they have a branding station in the store, a real DIY touch, which is exactly my language. And yes, I bought the boots I’d been eyeing.
I went home that night thinking: how cool would it be to do an event with them? So I designed a Western pack of stencils and a custom rope-style font, put together a pitch, showed it to them — and here we are.
That’s the thing I love about what I do: one evening walk, one open door, and now I’m painting live in their stores for their 11th anniversary.
Come by. Williamsburg Saturday, SoHo Sunday. Come watch it happen live.
