Custom 1/4 Inch Industrial Stencil Font Now Available for Model Enthusiasts

We’re excited to announce the addition of a 1/4 inch size to our popular Industrial stencil font collection! This update comes directly from the feedback of our creative community, specifically a model painting aficionado named Schyler. Our extensive range of letter stencils has always catered to diverse projects, but we recognized the need for smaller dimensions to accommodate intricate designs.

Schyler’s project showcases the precision and impact that our new stencil size can bring to model painting. It’s not just a tool; it’s a gateway to unleash creativity on a miniature scale. Check out the stunning detail Schyler achieved using our latest stencil offering. We believe it’s a game-changer for model artists seeking that extra level of finesse in their work.

We feel so proud, here at Stencil1 every time someone shows us what they made!
Check out this exciting project – Our customers created wood burning stenciled signs for a forest path in Eberswalde, Germany only 65 km south of Berlin! A small school with 90 pupils wanted to help out the local park ranger create signs for the various paths within the woods. They used our Baby Deer Stencil to create wood burning signs! They will keep us updated a long this project.

We are excited to have a new guest artist creating projects for your inspiration. This post is from guest artist Tracy Hickman.

Tools for this craft:

“Tired of being trapped in a box” was created by first painting the journal pages with PaperArtsy fresco paint, sand. A few different washi tapes were used over the top of that and a coat of clear gesso over the whole thing. When dry, I covered the entire two pages with a second Fresco color, wisteria. While still slightly damp, I placed a Stencil1 Scallop Small Stencil, on several parts of the page and with a baby wipe, wiped off the wisteria paint to expose the washi and sand colors below.

I, then, used three vintage cigar labels and painted them with PaperArtsy. I splattered and highlighted them in SethApter Izink gold pigment ink And used a watercolor pencil to highlight the raised design on the labels after painting. I’ve got the center of the labels out attached a piece of vintage ledger paper and then collage vintage Martin butterflies on top. I used some rub ins to indicated Fig 1, 2, and 3 under each of those images. Then, I used a second Stencil1 Small Stripes Repeat Stencil and places on top of a sheet of acetate. With a soft silicone brush, I spread SethApter Izink ICE glaze through the stencil, I masked off some of the lines in some instances to provide more negative space and let dry to give the illusion of “jail bars”. In the top right-hand butterfly, I made a small slice so the butterfly could come in and out of the acetate looking like it was escaping and attached all the acetate’s behind the cigar labels and over top of the vintage butterflies and ledger paper.

I added some stamping around the edges of the cigar bands and journal edges with archival brown ink. To marry the collage elements to the background, I used a third Stencil1 Quatrefoil Small Stencil and places at both edges. Using a foam dabbed, I applied clear embossing ink and sprinkled WOW embossing powder in space dust, and heat set to add a raised glimmer. A vintage typewriter statement on a vintage library card finished things off 😉

We have seen many unique items stenciled in our day but this one takes the cake, um, or the bread! We first came across @jennifer.bakes when she tagged Stencil1 on Instagram with one of her beautiful stenciled bread creations. This bread is not only beautiful, but it’s also edible and makes a WOW factor for any dinner party or holiday.  Behold Jen’s stenciled bread, Halloween, Winter, or anyway beautifully designed stenciled bread!

I asked Jen the process and she replied ” The process is pretty simple. The white is just flour and the black is activated charcoal (super messy but also super worth it). Right before baking I lightly spray the dough with water and use a tea infuser to dust on the flour over the stencil. For the activated charcoal, or if I’m layering the colors, I use a paint brush to dab the powder onto the stencil to be less wasteful with it and for more control.” Well, we have to try this, Thank you Jen!

We would like to shoutout the creative and wonderful people who send us their stencil projects. Thank you all for sending us your Stencil1 creations and tagging them on social media #stencil1 and @stencil1, you inspire us!
